“A Cry For Help”

Some exciting news happened on October 15th, 2012. I was announced a winner of a National photography contest!!!

The contest was the Canon Project Imaginat10n where there were only 91 winners in the nation. Ten winners were selected for each category (10 categories total), and only one photo was selected by Ron Howard for the “Discovery” category. My photo “A Cry For Help” was selected for the “Obstacle” category. It was really exciting to see my photo right there next to a huge inspiration of mine, Brooke Shaden!

The celebrity Directors including Eva Longoria (actress), Jamie Foxx (actor), Biz Stone (cofounder/director of Twitter), Georgina Chapman (Fashion Designer), and James Murphy (musician/cofounder of DFA records) will be selecting from the 91 photos for their inspiration and incorporate it into a short film. Ron Howard (film director) will lend his expertise as they move along with the production of each film. More directors will be announced soon. All of them are super talented and world famous! It’s just so cool that they might see my photo and be inspired by it!

I will surely post a link to any short films once it comes out. For this particular contest I won a $500 gift card for Canon products and Two tickets to the premiere of the film in the summer of 2013! Thanks to everyone who has supported me this far in my photography and an even bigger thanks to my Mom for entering me in the contest. I have been so busy, I asked her to help me enter into contests and I would gladly pay her. Of course she refused the payment and helped me out regardless. When I got the email from Canon about the contest I forwarded it to her and had her move it to the top of the list. She did just that, and entered me in all 10 categories…and I won!! Thanks mom, I love you!
